Safeguarding & welfare
Who to talk to, and what to expect from us.
Our Welfare Officer is [Name].
Email welfare@burfordhc.co.uk · Phone [number]
You can contact them directly and in confidence. You do not need to go through anyone else at the club first.
What this page is for
Hockey should be a good hour of your week. If something happens at this club that makes it not that — whether that's on the pitch, in a WhatsApp group, or at the teas afterwards — we want to know, and we'd rather hear about it early.
What we commit to
- Everyone is treated with respect, whatever their ability, age, gender, background or how long they've been here.
- Bullying, harassment and discrimination have no place at the club and will be dealt with, not smoothed over.
- Concerns are taken seriously, handled confidentially, and you'll be told what happens next.
- We follow England Hockey's safeguarding policies as an affiliated club.
Raising a concern
Speak to the Welfare Officer above. If your concern is about the Welfare Officer, contact the club Chair at [email] or go directly to England Hockey.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
